Nunca dejes tu tejido a la mitad de una corrida porque los puntos donde los dejaste se estitaran de manera dispareja.
Never put your knitting away half way through a row. The stiches at the point where you leave off will tend to strech unevenly.
La primera corrida es siempre es el LADO DERECHO de la labor a menos que la empieces de otro modo.
The first row is always the RIGHT SIDE of the work unless otherwise started.
Siempre hace una muestra del tejido antes de empezar tu labor.
Always make a knitted watch before beginning your proyect.
LEE todas las instrucciones y patrones antes de empezar tu labor. Haz un circulo o marca la talla que estas tejiendo.
READ all instructions/patterns before you begin. Circle or highlight the numbers pertaining to the size you are knitting.
NUNCA pongas los palillos en la madeja o trabajos que estas haciendo porque esto danara la lana o los puntos.
NERVER push the needles into the ball yarn or into the work as this will damage the strands of the yarn or stiches
Las AGU\JAS deben guardarse en una superficie plana, en un estuche de palillos o caja dura.
NEEDLES should be stored flat in a knitting needle holder or strong box.
Si urdes MUY APRETADO, trata de urdir en agujas/palillos una o dos medidas mas grandes y luego cambia a las agujas/palillos requeridos por la lana par acontinuar el resto de la labor.
If cast on edge is TOO TIGHT try casting on with needles a size or two larger, then change to the requierd size for the remainder of the project.
Siempre usa TIJERAS para cortar la lana, nunca la quebres con las manos.
Always use SCISSORS to cut the yarn, never break it with your hands.
GRAFICOS - cuando trajes congraficos, acuerdate que cada cuadradito representa un punto y una corrida. ( esto es para jaquard)

Siempre deberias comprar suficiente cantidad de lana para tu labor del mismo tenido y lote porque de otra manera podrias encontrarte que el tenido y el lote varian. Guarda la etiqueta poque toda la informacion se encuentra alli. Siempre amarra un pedacito de lana a la etiqueta asi no te olvidaras del color de la lana..
You should always purchase enough yarn of the same dye lot as there will be a variation between dye lots. Hold onto your ball band as all the information is there. Always tight a knot with the yarn's colour onto the band so you will know the colour of the wool.
Guardar tu ropa tejida es importante. Despues de todo tu te has tomado mucho tiempo en ellas. Lo mejor es guardarlas dobladas en un cajon o estanteria en vez de colgarlas porque esto estiara y las desfigura.
Storing your garment is so important. Afer all, you have spend a lot of tieme on it. YOur garments is best kept folded in a drawer or on a shelf rather than a hanger as this will strech the garment out of shape.

Keep UNUSED BALLS or yarn away from dust, damp and direct sunlight by storing in a plastic bag.
Guarda la etiqueta:la informacion que viene en la etiqueta no solo se refiere al color y lote sino tambien a como debes tratar la lana, lavado, planchado o secado de ella. Tambien dice los palillos que debes usar , los centimetros de la muestra y cuantas lanas necesitas para hacer una labor.
Keep a BALL BAND from each project as reference for washing/cleaning , ironing or drying. Also let you know about the needles you have to use and how much wool you need.
Guarda los restos de lanas que quedan de tus proyectos en una bolsa plastica trasparente para que te sea facil encontrar lanas para nuevos proyetos.
Store odds and ends from previous projects in clear plastic bag or boxes to make it easier to find contrasting colours for a new project.

KUMIHIMO

KUMIHIMO es una tecnica muy antigua procedente del Japon, y que data del 550 AC. Cuando la religion budista se esparcio en el pais, la gente comenzo a usar los cordones del kumihimo par decorar en sus ceremonias religiosas, para decorar carteles ,los uniformes samurais y decorar cuchillos tambien.

Este disco lo compre en una feria artesanal (aqui son serios para las artesanias) en el 2006, este verano decidi que tenia que aprender a usarlo y que lindos resultados. Use hilo de bordar punto cruz pero se puede usar lana fina tambien, alli pueden ver el que hice a mi hija y que uso en su pie. El cafe es de mi hijo, el verde de mi cunada y el otro es el primero que hice con los hilos que traia el kumihimo disck.

Las japonesas tiene un "loom" , si buscan en la net podran ver mucha informacion pues no puedo poner muchas fotos, solo lo que yo tengo y he hecho.

Lo pase tan bien haciendolo! .Fui a otra feria artesanal hace poco parecida a al que fui a mediados del 2006 y encontre que hacen collares y en la mitad le ponen mostasillas, queda tan lindo pero tendre que buscar el libro y los broches en las puntas para que parezca profecional.

Este es parte de mi coleccion de elementos con los que puedes tejer, de a poco mostrare mi coleccion, algunas cosas ya las he tratado otras no se cuando las tratare. Me divierte mucho coleccionar estas cosas.

KUMIHIMO is a technique from Japan since 550 BC.,when Buddist religion spread in the country, people use kumihimo decorating cord in religion ceremonis, to hang banners, make clothes , samurai uniforms and knifes.

I bought the disck at the Stiches Fair ( they are serious about this here) last year so this summer I decided to use it and what a wonderfull result.

I've used cotton for cross stiching but you may use fine wool too, you can see the one I've done to my doughter and she uses on her foot. The brown one is my son's, the green my sister in law and the other one I've done it with the ones they come with the kumihimo disck.

The japanese ladies have a loom but you can search at the net for more information.

I had so much fun doing it . I've gone to another Stich fair and I've seen necklaces with beads in the middle. I'll buy the book and the ends so they look moore proffetional.

This is part of my collection of things that you can knitt or weave with, little by little I'll show ya, some of them. I've tried others I don't know when I'll do it. I have so much fun collecting these.

Abrigo / Coat

Este abrigo lo hice cuando mi hijo tenia como 2 anos, y ahora el tiene 24. Se ha conservado muy bien. Lo uso muchas veces y espero que mis nietitos alguna vez lo usen tambien.

Use el estilo Jaquard.

Here is a coat that I did when my son was 2 years old, and now he is 24. It hasn't change. He wear it many times and I hope to see my grand sons wear it too.

I've use the Jaquard stile.

Lyrebird

Lyrebird es el nombre de un pajarillo que vive en la densidad le la foresta en Australia y que su nombre fue dado Lyrebird ( arpa) poque el macho cuando abre su cola se parece a ella, sus plumas blancas parecen al marco del arpa y el medio simila a las cuerdas de ella. Lo que mas me ha impresionado de este pajarillo es que le gusta imitar toda clase de sonidos incluyendo el sonido de un tractor, una maquina de sacar fotos, un serrucho o perros, etc. Se piensa que el la forma de cortejar a la hembra y tambien es una forma de marcar su territorio y decir a otros pajaros que el territorio le pertenece.

Este beanie es par un baby de como 6 a 8 meses.

Lyrebird is a name of a bird that lives in the Australian frorest, it's name was given becuse when the male open it tale it look like the instrument, the white feathers look like the frame and the one in the midle look like the strings.

What impress me the most is that this bird love to mimic every single noise in the environment like: tractor, photo camera, saw, dogs and more. I belive that this is the way to impress the femele and also make sure that he is the owner of the area.

Aqui podemos ver el tipico cuadrado de la abuela, en el primero el un cuadrado grande que sirve par hacer un picnic para dos sentados en la rug, pero mas me gusto este de pequenos cuadrados (48), estan unidos en la ultima corrida unidos al mismo tejido ya que una amiga italianna ,Vilma,me enseno que cuando vas en la ultima corrida, vas uniendo los cuadrados y asi quedan mas seguros y no tienes que aflijirte en coser al final de la labor.
Here you can see the popular granny's square, the first one is big and you can use it for a picnic for two sitting on it, but I did like the one with little squeares ( 48), they are gathering together in the last road , an italian friend, Vilma ,tought me. Knitting them at the last road make the work more secure and you don't have to worry about sowing .

Este es un cuadrado que se llama "dimond square" y que es muy interesante de hacer pero que ha sido un proyecto dificil de terminar ya que se me alargo. Pero ya cuando lo tengo terminado les muestro el producto final. Con este cuadrado mas pequeno de 14 puntos mas uno, se puede hacer un chaleco y que da sensacional. Seria interesante para Uds. de investigar en la net por el poque salen modelos tan hermosos.

Here is a square call: "dimond square" and it is very interesting to work on it, but it has been a proyect a bit difficult to finish becouse take longer. I'll show ya when it is finish. With this square using 14 stiches plus one, you can do a cardigan and it will be sensational. It would be very interesting for ya to investigate in the net becouse you can find beautiful patterns.

Un regalo para alguien 2

Este es un bolso a crochet que parece dificil pero que en realidad es una ilusion optica ya que el punto era medianamente dificil, me encanto creo que hare muchos mas. Le iva a poner estas manillas pero al final le hice una tejida.
