What a funny and surprise thing happen when I was at the church today, I was looking at the crowd when I looked at my friend Natale's doughtier Elise, she has needles and a yarn on her hand ... she was knitting, it was so happy about it, is no a common thing to see, but then... there was Jarred knitting too. I could not believe me eyes hahahaha , he was knitting too.

After the church I came to him and congratulated him, also helped with some stitches out of place. Philip come close and ask me if I could teach him how to do it and I reply:"I'll teach you in the Spanish way", after this Jarred asked me if I could teach him how to do it in Spanish way?jjjjjiiiihahhaah.

I think it was too much for him after all, mum showed him how to knit only the knight before.

I also show him the finger knitting as you see Jarrod and Phil are very concentrate on it.

Hoy ocurrio algo muy divertido y sorprendente en la Iglesia, estaba mirando a la gente y me di cuenta que Elise, la hija de mi amiga Natalie, tenia una madeja de lana en su mano y unos palillos .... estaba tejiendo, pero luego... vi al Jarod que también estaba tejiendo. Jajajjaaj no podia creerlo.

Despues de la Iglesia vine a felicitarlo, y le ayudé con algunos puntos perdidos, en eso se acercó Phil y me pregunto si le enseñaba a el también, a lo que yo le respondí que lo haria a la manera de los hispanos. Entonces Jarod me pidió que le enseñara de esa manera, pero fue mucho para él después de todo solo había aprendido la noche anterior con su mama y hermana.

Tambén les mostré como tejer con los dedos, ahí los ven muy consentrados viendo como se hacía.

I did this cords

to my mums friend Mrs Eugenia, she asked me to do them so she can put them to her baggage, so when they came out in the airport she would be able to recognise them. Her trip was in the one the same fly a very important Chilean politician was traveling, they regard her as she was so important too, and yes the cords purpose achieve what she want, recognise her baggage.

Siento no haber podido hacer muchos blogs últimamente pero aca tienen lo que se supone tiene que tener despues que preparamos el disco con el último diseño.

Hice estos cordones para la mamá de mi amiga la Sra.Eugenia, ella los queria para ponerlos en su maleta y poder reconocerlas a la salida del avión. Su viaje fue en el vuelo donde viajaba un importante politico chileno , quien junto a su esposa, la saludaron como si fuera alguien tan importante. Si los cordones cumplieron su objetivo y ella pudo reconoser sus maletas.

This photo show ya 2 colour set, 4 yellow and 12 orange. If your disc has 36 numbers then setting it like this will give you a different patter, the" CROSS", and I will show ya how the cord should look after this.
I suggest ya to use same ply of cotton, this time I use 4 ply.
But in another project I use a thicker cotton for the cross and it look different. you will see soon what I mean.

Aquí pueden ver esta foto con 16 hilos, en dos colores, naranja y amarillo. Si tu disco tiene 36 numeros, si lo enebras de esta manera en que ves en la foto tendraás un diseño diferente conseguirás poner una CRUZ en tu cordón de kumihimo.

Te sujiero que uses siempre un hilo con los mismos ply pues si pones otro ply en la cruz, te quedará diferente.

También este video les dará una idea mas clara de lo que quise decir en las entradas anteriores

Here you see what I mean with the fish staff, and becouse it is metal is better that you put it in a bag idealy a cotton one, becouse it is not good for your health. You also could see the project in progress.
Once you get to the end, just make a knot with two of the cotton in the middle. Now the kumihomo cord is finish. I will show ya how to finish with cotton or metal.
Aquí pueden ver lo que quiero decir con esas pesas que se usan para pezcar, y como es metál no es conveniente par nuestra salud , así que ponelo en una bolsita de algodón.
Puedes ver el proyecto en progreso, cuando termines haz un nudo con los hilos dos veces y lo sacas todo. Haz terminado con tu cordón de kumihimo. Ya te mostrare como hacer las terminaciones que pueden hacerce con el mismo hilo o se les puede poner metál.

Kumihimo tutorial 2

I've choose crochet knitting cotton and a shiny golden to show ya the pattern and also because this colours match very well and they are elegant.

Ir you are using a cotton that is heavy (red) than the other one ( gold) , the light one make it a bit longer ( gold). You will need to cut about 2 miter length on each cotton, in this occasion we need 4 of them, so 4 cotton 2 meter length each, as you could see on the first photo the bunch of them are bend in half.

I want you to look at the first photo and see where the cotton is place and starting for the smallest number you could see that one end of a gold thread is place between 2 and 3 an the other one across between 20-21. The next thread is between 3-4 and 21-22.

Red: 10-11 and 28-29 / the following thread is between 11-12 and 29-30.

So there is a cross in the middle.

I forgot to tell ya that there is necessary to have some weight on the middle to help the cord to come down, I always find something simple and easy to use. In this case I use a weight and a hook people use to fish, and I put them together with a plastic thread.

So once you set the disc ,hook the weight in the middle.

Rule No 1: Set the loom in the numbers indicate by the pattern you are doing.

No.2: Right- top cotton goes down beside the bottom one on your right.

No.3: Left- bottom cotton goes up beside the upper one on your left.

4.Do one colour first and then move the circle to your right, opposite the clock wise.

5. So we satart on with the number 3 on the top and we bring it down to number 19, on bottom right. Then we take number 22 on our bottom left and we bring it to number 1 on the top left.

We then move the circle opposite the clock wise, we are infront of number 11 on our top right, and bring it to number 27 on the bottom right. Continue with number 29 on the bottom left and bring it up to number 9 on the top left.

Don't worries anymore about the number and do the same movement all the time, I just gave you the numbers for y to know what to do.

Look at the photo with me hand on it, please observe the way the cotton look like now, the red one is wide and the gold one is close, this is how it should be looking after a little while, this means that the red one is the last colour I work with, some times you may leve the disc to do something , so then you know that the open one is the last one you've done so continue with the close one. I will try to put a video about it.

Elegí este hilo para tejer a crochet y otro dorado mas liviano para que veas como queda el diseño. Si usas un hilo mas liviano que el otro, has el liviano mas larg.

Necesitamos 4 hilos de 2 metros de largo dos dorados y dos rojos. Los tomas todos y los doblas por la mitad como ves en la foto. Empezando por el número mas bajo, pondrás el hilo dorado en el númro 2 y 3 arriba, y abajo entre el 20 y 21, el próximo entre 3-4 arriba y abajo 21-22.

Rojo: 10-11 arriba y 28-29 abajo y finalmente 11-12 /29-30.

Asi que verás una cruz en el medio.

Me olvidé de decirles que necesitamos un peso en el medio del circulo para que ayude a bajar el cordón, a mi me gustan las cosas buenas- bonitas y baratas, asi es que en este caso usé un peso y gancho que usan los pecadores, lo uní con hilo plástico. Asi que cuando hayas puesto los hilos en su lugar, enganchas este peso en el medio.

Reglas: 1. Coloca los hilos en los numeros necesarios

2. El lado de arriba de la drecha va hacia abajo

3. El lado de abajo en la izquierda va hacia arriba.

4 .Mueve el circulo hacia la izquierda opuesto al movimiento del reloj.

5. Empezamos por el numero mas bajo.

Ahora baja el número 3 arriba al 19 abajo en tu derecha, y el 22 abajo a tu izquierda lo mueves al 1 arriba en la izquierda. Luego mueve el circulo opuesto al movimiento del reloj y quedarás en fente del númerno 10. Aquí mieves el 11arriba a la derecha al 29 abajo a la derecha.

No te preocupes más de los números, este movimiento tienes que hacerlo siempre solamete o hice para que entendieran mejor lo del movimiento.

Porfavor mira la foto donde está mi mano, como te daras cuenta después de algun tenemos el color rojo que se ve abiero y el color rojo cerrado, el rojo que está abierto es el último movimiento que hiciste, puede ser que te distrajiste y fuiste a hacer algo y se te olvidó cual fue tu último movimiento. Procuaré poner un video par que entiendan mejor, pero con esto ya pueden empezar.

Kumihimo Tutorial

We will need a cardboard, in this case is the cardboard from a brand new shirt from me hubby, a round ruler, 10c coin, a lead pencil, and a scissors.

Mark around the ruler with the lead pencil, mark each centimetre, then draw the circle around the coin in the middle of the cardboard. As you see cut about 1 cm toward the middle of the circle on each cm. Then I want ya to cut the edges of each wing we have after doing the cutting around the circle.

A cross in the middle circle with a knife will help ya to open the hole like so ,number the wings and voala! the kumihimo disc is ready for you to use. I will put the rest of the lesson soon.

Necesitaremos un carton, en este caso el que viene en la camisa de mi esposo , una tijera, una moneda pequeña, un lapiz grafito y una regla redonda.

Marque al rededor de la regla con el lápiz, también marke los centímetros, corte estos hacia adentro del circulo. Tiene que cortarle las puntitas a las aletas como ve en la fotos. Haga un circulo con la moneda en el medio del cartón y corte una cruz con un cuchillo, esto le ayudará a hacer el aujero del medio. Enumere las alitas y voala! . Weaving 3

I have been showing ya photos about how to set the loom, but can't explain much any way the photo say it all. This is me first scarf in a weaving loom of four shuffles, quiet tricky and complicate ,using math always stress me a bit. But is so much fun and diversity of things to consider and techniques to learn. Hope to do so much weaving. I went to one of the meetings al Burgood, in NSW spinners and weavers, the meeting of the month and sombody gave away a loom, I could not belive it, it was quiet rusty but is a thing to fix and that's it. I HAVE A LOOOOOOOOMMMMMM. So exiting about, thank you to that anonimous lady who gavi it away.

Also it is an honour to be Lis student, a lady with so much experience and understanding of this carft. Thank you Lis.

The scraf has different finishing, it dosent need to be the same, and I love to do unusual things.On me right hand I have a aneven fringe and in the other is an indian stile. I will be showing ya the different weavings I been learning.

Les he estado mostrando fotos de como enebrar el telar, las fotos lo dicen todo. Esta es la primera bufanda en un telar de 4 ... sorry no sé en español, un poquito complicado de enebrar, hay que usar matemáticas que siempre me estresa.Hay tantas cosas que considerar y técnicas que aprender. Espero poder hace mucho telar.

Fui a una de las reuniones del Guild de Burgood ,NSW spinners and weavers donde una señora regalo su telar, no podia creerlo, necesita se arreglado pues esta un poco oxido pero tiene arreglo. Tengo un TELAAAAAAAAAAAAR , que emocionante.

Gracias a la señora que lo regalo.

También para mi es un honor de estar en la clase con Lis Coleman, una señora con tanta sabiduria y entendimiento en esta manualidad.

La bufanda tiene dos terminaciones diferentes, no tienen que ser iguales, a un lado una terminacion en diferentes largos y en la otra una forma de estilo indio.

I forgot to tell ya that once you blow the egg before hand, you have to cover the holes with wax.

And here they are me eggs hahhhahha.

Me olvidé decirles que una vez que los soplas antes de empezar el trabajo, tienes que cubrir los huevos con cera.

Y aqui estan mis huevitos jajjajajjaa.

Vera is showing us how to do this fun craft. There is one of the student showing how to put the egg

in the jar. The egg is a fresh egg, is good if is not. Some people blow them before hand, others afther the job is finish, but in this case you can't use the egg, so I like to do it before hand. The only thing with this is the empty egg will float in the die so we have to push it with the spoon and hold the spoon in the jar with gluetack.

Another important thing is that you have to wash your hands very well before you start becouse any hand lotion may not let the egg die.

How the colours come to reality?, you heat the egg on the side of the flame, and once it look moisture you clean the wax with a paper towell. Finaly a wood vanish need to be apply with disposable globes, deep in a finger would be enough. Then let it dry overnight and put another lyer of this vanish.

Vera nos muestra como hacer este entretenido craft. Aqui ven una estudiante sumergiendo el huevo en la anilina.
El huevo puede ser fresco pero también esta bien si no lo es,algunas personas soplan el huevo antes de este trabajo pues así pueden usar el huevo , porque si no, no puede ser consumido"; asi que yo prefiero hacerlo antes. Lo unico que el huevo queda muy liviano y flota, asi es que debemos empujarlo con la cuchara y sostener la cuchara con algún pegamento.

Otra cosa imprtante es que tienen que lavarse las manos muy bien pues cualquier losión puede estorbar el teñido.

Como puede verse el color después de todo esto?, debemos pasar el huevo por la llama de la vela y cuando se ve mojado limpiarlo con un papel. Finalmente debemos ponerle varnis que se usa para las maderas , se pone una vez con huantes desechables y se deja secar por la noche, luego le das otra mano de varniz.
